Audio Technica ATLP120 Professional Turntable with USB is a great option for quality without having to pay for it. You looked at some players for under $100 and they just seemed too cheaply made. If you wanted a quality record player and this one was a step up in price but a leap in quality. You didnt buy it for the USB option but it's a good bonus if you ever want to use it. Your are no audiophile so the need le that comes with it sounds great to you, though the weight you put it on is just above 2 and you had to turn the antiskate up a bit more so the needle didn't rush into the grooves. Overall you are very pleased and would recommend to anyone who wants more than just a cheap novelty record player.
