I purchased this unit for my vacation home and it fits the bill perfectly. The sound fills the living room very nicely. There are several equalizer settings and the unit is put together very well - it doesn't feel cheap. I also have the Bose system at my house at home and this unit compares very favorably to it for half the price. The only drawback that I have is that my ipod is a 1st generation and it didn't recognize it. My wife's iphone and my kids itouch worked perfectly. In order to get my ipod to work, I purchased a male to male connector for the auxiliary input in the unit and the headphone jack in the ipod. The ipod still has to sit in the cradle but it won't charge the unit. It ran on battery power but played for 5+ hours with no issues.
